A horoscope is a deciphering of the picture of the sky at the moment of a person's birth using the symbolic language of astrology. Since each moment of time is unique and has certain qualities and characteristics, then a person born at this particular moment will also have these qualities.

The difference will be that the Indian astrologer will give specific rituals and actions, often without much explanation of how it works and why. I see these planetary positions as a personality design, as certain character traits that form certain circumstances in a person's life or his Karma. That is, the point here is not so much that there is an inevitable predetermination, but that the nature of our mind is inert, and seeing as we have certain patterns of behavior, we tend to follow them rather than acting spontaneously at the moment.
What we are used to using in considering ourselves is a personality, which is a set of programs inherent in us thanks to the environment, culture, certain events in our lives, and other factors. Unconscious life is the automatic following of these programs, i.e. walking in circles or staying in Sansara. This is called sleep and ignorance.
